Marketing consultants know of some magazines doing it right backwards

As small business marketing consultants we are always keeping up to date with the latest developments within our industry. We also like to keep all of our audience up to date so you too can keep up with our ever-evolving industry.

In previous blogs we have described many publications that have shut their doors to move online or shut down completely. Many Sydney marketing consultants will tell you this is just the beginning any many publications will follow suit.

One particular online publication is actually reversing this and moving to print. According to Marketing Magazine Online food and lifestyle website Taste.com.au has announced it will be launching a monthly print magazine edition of its hugely successful online property.

Managing director of NewsLifeMedia, Nicole Sheffield, has announced that Taste.com.au Magazine will launch in September and is confident that its strong online following will carry over to a print audience.

“Taste.com.au is a resounding Australian success story. It is one of the most trusted brands in the country and in six short years it has become Australia’s number one food and lifestyle brand,” she says.

Marketing Magazine Online revealed Nielson research figures that show that the website received 1.7 million unique visitors and over 31 million page views in March and was the number one paid app in the Food and Drinks category of Apple’s App Store. It currently houses over 25,000 recipes with 461,402 members who have created one million online cookbooks and saved 2,135,287 recipes.

With these figures in mind moving beyond online and creating a publication makes sense. Hopefully with the demise of many print publications this new one can shine and target a niche group of followers to make it a successful growth.
